Intel launching first gaming graphics cards in 2022

Intel will take on Nvidia and AMD with its first true dedicated gaming graphics cards in early 2022, the company said in a statement on Monday.

It also revealed the name of the upcoming high-performance graphics products would be Intel Arc.

I'm interested to see what happens. On the one hand, I don't trust Raja Koduri, the architect who left AMD to work at Intel. His last product at AMD - Vega - just wasn't that good. Overhyped and underdelivered.

On the other hand, some competition in the market would be good. The problem is that Intel is having its GPUs manufactured at TSMC - which is also where AMD and Nvidia have their GPUs manufactured. So, this won't necessarily make the silicon shortage better.
