Already shipping to customers, the Intel SSD 310 is priced at US$99 for the 40GB capacity and US$179 for the 80GB version, both in 1,000-unit quantities.

Well I bought two Intel 80GB's last year (about August), and they cost R1600 each then. I expect these are similar in price or less, though doubt they will be available here immediately. Personally I wouldn't touch the Intel ones again... I was a bit hasty and only compared them later when it came to performance as their write speed sucked big time. I would now go for something with better write speed... though they are much more pricey.
