ok so I google'd this...

seems like if you thinking of going SLI it would be pretty stupid to go the intel route... but I have a 4890 so that puts that out of the way.

im looking for raw performance here, so im looking for people with experience with both chipsets.

what you guys think?

cheers

I currently run the 680i (I know she is getting old) on one of my computers, works briliant for SLI,750i can only be better, and is judging by the reviews, but seriously wont trust an nvidia chipset with ATi card..ever. The P45 intel chipset seems to work 145% for my one friends ATi crossfire setup.

yeah it just seems very sluggish to me....

I "upgraded" from nvidia 8800GT to a 4870 quite a while ago, and while the FPS were higher, Im sure everything seemed a lot more sluggish..

So ATI card and a Nvidia chipset not a good idea!?

the thing is that the nvidia chipsets are optimized for sli, and sli and crossfire are two different technologies. And the reason everything seemed more sluggish comes down to your ram, dont know how much ram you and at which speed your ram ran but you need atleast 2gigs of ram to decently run SLI or crossfire...what make was your board? and which board of the chipsets are you running, and which do of the two do you want to buy? sorry I'm confused:D

hehe :)

I currently have a Asus P5N-D which has the Nvidia 750 SLI chipset. Im runing 2 x 2GB Corsair XMS2. System just seems sluggish when I compare it to systems around me...

Im actually starting of just getting a Asus P5Q-Deluxe... that has an Intel P45 chipset... I mean I have upgraded everything else except my motherboard!
