Sigh, this is really frustrating!

I can't seem to get my device installed and its a constant run around between RPMS that doesn't want to install and require stuff that you can't find on the net!

This is really really frustrating...

People can say what they want about M$ but atleast you don't BATTLE like this installing a stupid driver!

If anyone has been here before, any help would be much appreciated!

Got the RPMs for the driver, they want the mac80211 subsytem installed, got the RPMs for the mac80211 which requires a file /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18.92.1.17.el5 WTF??? Why can't these people just create ONE file with everything you might need in it???

Help please :D

So stupid. All those packages requires other packages which requires more packages which requires more and more and more...

Thanks for input, I'm switching back to M$, atleast that works...

If you are using Red Hat 9... RH9 is ancient and doesn't support much. The new RHE (Red Hat Enterprise) is commercial software that costs a pretty penny. If you want to go that route I'd rather use OpenSUSE...

didn't that website work, it explained it all soo nicely...

Explained it so nicely, but now I need the IEEEE something something subsystem and thats just a nother way of saying HAHAHA, you're never gonna get this isntalled... :D

Nah, M$ is a better option...

LOL Peder, yeah, the "UNBRAKEABLE LINUX" is only unbreakable beacause you can't get it to work :D :D :D HAHAHAHA

Where can I download Ubuntu where the site is not too slow?

Die vinnigste plek vir jou sal of ftp.up.ac.za wees, of ubuntu.mirror.ac.za

Ive got the same NIC in my Dell D630 and ubuntu intrepid installs it and its wireless cousin first time.

I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 now and everything, I mean everything, is working! No driver dl's or installs or anything! It's fast, reliable and looks absolutely brilliant!

Only thing I'm battling with now is getting my Wireless Connected to the router... For some strange reason Ubuntu doesn't pick up the Authentication type setup on my router (Wep-64Bit). Only gives Wep-128 (Passphrase)... Still working on that one :D Luckily the device is working and my onboard lan is also working, so I can connect to network via cable (SO 60s! :D )

Love Ubuntu!

get fedora 9 if you want a red hat based distro. my wireless (same as yours) ran first time after install
