Intel share price rally sends AMD tumbling

Intel Corp. shares jumped the most since March after a research report stoked optimism about its delayed next-generation manufacturing technology and sent rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. tumbling.

A ramp up of Intel’s 10-nanometer production could begin as soon as April, four-to-six weeks earlier than current projections, BlueFin Research Partners said in a research note.

Wait until AMD launches 7nm processors when Intel has barely launched 10nm processors - then there will be a market shakeup, especially if the next generation Epyc (ie server) processors are good.

As far as I know, AMD's 7nm processors should be released somewhere around April 2019.

Yeah, no. All indications are that a 1H 2019 launch for 10nm chips is beyond unrealistic. This report did its job to make some people a lot of money.

10 nm vs 7nm isn't really comparing apples to apples though, as there's so many things that can be measured in a transistor. It's only really useful comparing things from the same foundry.

Intel shares dropped more than 20% since May, how long this small increase will last.?
We need more such revelations from Bloemberg.

Well AMD only "tumbled" by about 7%, compared to their rise of more than 50% in the last few months I'd reckon it's not too bad.
