Well sort of, for fixed applications. For example Netgear, Linksys, D-Link & co. can now start making low cost WiMAX/WiFi routers, however this just makes WiMAX another option in an already crowded broadband market (ADSL, HSDPA, BPL etc.).thats what everyone has been waiting for.....wimax begins.
Make it brandy, thanks.Either way, anybody in the mood for a beer?![]()

IMO WiMAX will really begin when the hw comes standard in your average laptop and one doesnt have to make the descision to purchase hw, you just sign up. This is probably only coming in 2008.
Next year's Centrino release, Santa Rosa will include the network chip Kedron which supports 802.11n (100Mbps WiFi) only. 2008's Centrino release Montevina will include the network chip Shiloh which most predict will include both 802.11n and 802.16e on the same low-power chip.
