The more recent intel chipsets allow you to wirelessly connect your tv/display to your laptop using Intel WiDi technology. Sounds pretty useful for me.

You just need a compatible laptop and a receiver that plugs into the hdmi port of your TV. You're looking at about $130 in the US. I don't see any local links.

Requirements Here

If you meet the requirements AND you can install then all you need is the adapter.

Experiences?

Tried it. Not bad at all.

Yes there are fiery hoops / niggles to jump through to get it working for the first time, but once done it is really easy to just connect up to a WiDi unit.

The 3 basic elements are:
2nd gen Core i-series
Intel HD Graphics
Intel WiFi that qualifies

AND THEN...
The Intel WiDi software and driver (100+ MB download last time I did it)

I got good results up to about 10 meters (in open air), so don't expect it to broadcast your video collection from the study/bedroom to the lounge.

Worth it? What did you pay for the widi adapter?
