Ponder: when I installed Windows 7 on my office PC's 30GB SSD, I had like 5GB of free space left after I removed like the page file & hibernation, but I did have like Visual Studio Express 2010 Beta + Office 2010 Beta installed on it.
So I just switched to Ubuntu 10.04 x64 and now I'm not even using 10GB of it. So if you're going for Linux, you can get away with 30GB SSD, but definitely not with Windows 7, unless you're going to be removing tonnes of stuff with vLite (I've never heard of this, just of nLite
)
killadoob:
Here are the results of 2x HD Tune tests that I ran, with 64KB & 1MB block sizes respectively: http://www.zoopy.com/photo/5azd/hd-tune-64kb-block-size & http://www.zoopy.com/photo/5azc/hd-tune-1mb-blocksize
Also note that I have the GBP1 version of the SSD, where as the GBP2 version is now on sale.
