Hello all

Need some advice regarding my internet problem please. 384 connection, Axxess ISP, Netgear modem.

I lose connection at times which can last for seconds or minutes. Have had telkom out and they can't find the problem. Swapped modems. Tried LAN cable instead of wireless connection. Modem does get hot. Connection stats are:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 320 kbps 128 kbps
Line Attenuation 62.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 25.0 db 12 db
These are much the same as the neighbour with pretty much the same setup and no problem.

Is there any other test I can perform or is this a line problem?

Please help while I have some sanity left!

Thanks
Don

I had same problem for probably around 2 months (also swapped routers) untill i finally I phoned telkom and they sent a techie. He struggled for 2 days to sort the problem and it ended up being the ac/dc power converter which happened to be the only thing I never tried.
So your problem could be caused by a failing power supply unit.

Line Attenuation 62.0 db 31.5 db

your problem your way to far away form the dslam, ask telkom move to closer one, to get better line stats.
