International browsing down?

Internation has been up and down like a $2 hooker for me most of the day
Perhaps if you had said "..up and down for me like a $2 hooker for most of the day" we wouldn't be thinking you've paying some hooker $2 to, well, ..you know! :D

That said I'm having the WORST time with several international sites - and even some local, like this one!

edit: bloody typo!

$2 times exchange rate @7 = R14 divided by 9 hours = R1.55 per hour? Seems like a good deal to me. You mind passing on her number?:D

The 196.37.192.xxx ip range is working correctly. 196.34.xxx.xxx is still not working

196.35.* has been suckulicious in the WORST way too; and it's web (local, notably THIS site  and various international), local & .us-based email that are the worst hit. Also, I haven't been able to do streaming radio on this fraudband *cough.choke.splutter* "Premium" account ALL bloody afternoon, it's been only the soul-sucking hum of machinery for me since somewhere round 4pm, when I first tried to get it going.

That said, I fed a .iso file to my download manager and damn me if it didn't rocket off out of the gates at FULL-bloody-tilt! ..seriously, this download is galloping along at a rip-snorting >= 50KB/s! Hell, it's even nudging for extended periods up against 58KB/s or so ...*sigh*

Fridays is "lets train our 2 week old techies and make them 10 year skilled techies" day :D

Still down

International is still giving problems if you get a 196.34.xxx.xxx ip address range which is owned by IS. If you are lucky enough after lots of resets and reconnections you might get a 196.37.xxx.xxx ip address which works perfectly and also run by IS.

It is just shocking that they still have not fixed it up yet. I had to VPN in to work last night with all the connections and resets to try be able to connect to work I might as well have driven in.

mmm you guys are right.
I tried phoning through this info but....... :(
With MyWi if I log off/on and get a 196.34.xxx.xx IP, I cannot get onto my website.
However if I log off/on/off/on until I get a 196.37.192.xx IP address my website comes in no problem at all.

Maybe its time to build an IP "prefered range" option into MySignal, so that it keeps re-trying x number of times until it gets the requred IP range :)

Yes Sir, good idea!

It would save me a lot of clicking when I want to connect to IS :D

This just shows how pathetic the MiWi service is. How can they NOT fix a certain IP address to work on Intl??? It's shocking.

I had a disconnect last night and was not able to reconnect again this morning. I phoned Sentech and the call centre guy said there was a router problem with some of the packages (256?) and that they expected it to be working later today. It seemed to have been rectified this morning somewhere after 9am.

Router problem

I am on a 256 package and also had problems this morning until I got on to the other IP address range. 3 days or how ever long is a long time to have a router problem.

mmm as of 12:00 I cannot connect on 256k, tells me my username and/or password is incorrect on the domain.
Yet I can connect using a 128k username and password.
Once connected with 128k I go to the registration page, enter my 256k details and it says all is correct.
Eish, the modern fast tracked skills of today :(

I had about an hour and a half of downtime this morning between 8 and 9.30. Phoned NoWire and the lady said "where are you from" when I said Durban, she said "oh ja you are the second caller from there this morning with the same problem." ...... but had no reason for the problem :)

It took me over 20mins on Sentech 256 to post this reply... This in itself speaks volumes.

I'm getting IBurst tomorrow... definitely... Cant carry on like this.. Its rediculous...

Even dail-up is faster than this...
