OK I'm using a WA 1GB prepaid account for international and a 10GB local only account for local using RouteSentry.

I've set it up 2 days ago but what's bugging the heck out of me is that for some reason the International account just seems to die out after a while. What I mean is, one minute it'll be fine and the next all international sites will just time out. Disconnecting/reconnecting fixes it but I'm not gonna do that all the time.

I need you experts here to help me figure out what's causing this. Someone said it's because of Telkom's crappy routers (I'm using the Mega100WR btw).

So anyone here using RouteSentry with this router, do you have the same problem as me? Otherwise what settings could be causing the international acc to just die out on me?

I've used RouteSentry with the Mega100WR without issues. Given WA had the authentication issues is it not most likely a problem they are having?

What happens if you switch back to normal point-to-point and creat a dial up connection?

Hi, I hope im on the right thread here, if not sorry. Firstly I have done a search, but there are thousands of threads with reference to route sentry :) my question is, is there or where can i find a complete guide to setting up,installing this prog/app...does any1 have a link i can use to find it.:D im using 512line with 3gigtelkom on a Premium Combo Router.Want to add a local account. Thanks

magicman register on the greenlab forums, theres a very good step by step guide there.

milomak, when my router was still in PPPoE mode before I was using RouteSentry everything was fine. I know WA have been having problems but I started using RS a couple of days before the WA problems started and noticed this problem.

What exactly are you asking me to check? To dial the International connection without RouteSentry running?

EDIT. Once the new month starts I'll try using RouteSentry with OpenWeb 10GB as the local account but with my TelkomInternet SAIX account for international and see if I have have the same problem. I'll bump this thread if I still have problems. :)

Guess: Not a keep alive missing? Is the connection switching off? Or is it connected but not responding?

Both connections, local and international are connected, I can see both of them in the taskbar.

I can browse local sites fine e.g. these forums load perfectly but when my international connection seems to slip into unconsciousness then when I try to load international sites none of them load. It just says waiting for xx.com, connecting to xx.com and eventually just times out.

And it's everything international that doesn't work e.g. my forecastfax extension in Firefox times out as well and also another good example is theses forum will load but when it has to load the google-analytics.com part it gets stuck there.

feo:

try some traceroutes, pings, nslookups
it could be the end side, it could be a bust route, or it may be dns misbehaving for some reason.
I am not a RouteSentry user, but I have had some or all of the above on my Mikrotik router - and I also split in the same way as you.

i got the same problem, except local times out as well. when I try ping i get device not available, and no resources available (the message changes). Both local and international show as connected. I can disconnect them and reconnect them, but it doesn't help. I've tried disabling the nic, uninstalling it etc. only thing that works is rebooting my pc.
Now the weird part, I can boot XP on VMWare and the internet works fine, except for short timeouts that I can hit refresh to fix.
I've tried repairing my windows installation, uninstalling firewall software, put in another network card, doesn't help. When I take my router (billion 5102 i think) off bridge mode, everything works fine again (after rebooting my pc).
My plans for tonight? format reinstall...

I dunno how to do those or even what to look for so please explain a bit more. :)

hmm, that trace is going via local account (I assume IS is your local).

So international (SAIX accout) is either off, OR the route is "broken".

So maybe he should give us a tracert immediately when he connects and international is working as well.

As requested a tracert to digg.com when international is working fine:

----------------------------------------------------
By the way these are the accounts I'm using for local and international:

local: Openweb 10GB local only account (IS)
int: WebAfrica 1GB prepaid (I guess this is IS)

try pressing 'set up routes now' in routesentry when both are connected then do the traceroute

try pressing 'set up routes now' in routesentry when both are connected then do the traceroute
It's identical to the last tracert I posted above, just the ping times differ by a few ms.

But right now the international isn't acting up, I notice that it mostly goes dead if I'm downloading something locally from say torrents or the IS news server.

strange it seems that it stops resolving via SAIX after some time and routes via IS.

Aaaargh it's just gone dead again right in the middle of browsing, local is fine as usual.

Trying to ping and tracert amazon.com:

i think im having the same problem  did you manage to sort it out?

lol I knew it, this is DEFINITELY a problem that everyone should be having because when the router is not in bridge mode using just one account it's fine, only when using RouteSentry it happens.

Quick fix (for now): Press the "Set up Routes Now" button.
