<conspiracy on> Telkom is killing int. bandwidth so that no one can use (rape) their connections for the end of the month download fest (esp. before the Nov. f*uck up) </conspiracy off>
Ok - i admit... it was me...
I was downloading life on my 192k line (a 460meg linux distro) and i must have overloaded the part of the undersea link that telkom allocates to the public... my bad
ftp to US Server stuffed as well as internaltional browsing very slow.
been slow/dead on and off the last week. also many timeouts from international and local (IS) mail servers
ISP = SAOL
Account Status = Uncapped
Location = Gauteng East Rand
Status = FEDUP WITH TELKOM'S BS!!
Just spoke to SAOL tech support who inturn had just followed up on a complaint logged by them with Telkom earlier this evening regarding connectivity issues. According to Telkom, the earlier Int. connectivity issues were caused by a problem with the line between Randburg and Hong Kong. Telkom reckon the problem has been sorted out when, quite clearly, it hasn't. You gotta wonder what the deal is when they feed their reseller ISP's the same CRUD that they so liberally dish out to us end users all the time!!
So who wants to join me in raising funds to by our own, privately owned undersea cable??
good i was thinking it was only me who was getting cruddy speeds and lag bumps and its double experience on the mud i play www.dsl-mud.org xcept its laggy so i am succeptable to pvp and south park is comming out an smallville and .... where's my bandwidth!!
Same thing here. Klerksdorp, Telkom ADSL 192, intl downloads creeping with 5k (usually I get >20), intl sites extremely slow. No torrent usage here. Last night everything was fine. What the heck is going on?
