International down again?? Seacom??

Yeah I just logged into my account using my 3G card. I am well and truly not impressed with Cybersmart right now.

I got sent a bandwidth warning yesterday stating I only have 6.33 gb of data left. I hardly did any downloading yesterday except for updating my windows installation and antivirus stuff and other odds and ends. Now this morning it says I've overdrawn my account by 1.64 gb. So according to Cybersmart I downloaded 8 gb in just over a day when I had a 384 kb circuit up until 3 pm yesterday and I only got home at 6.30 pm from work. I got upgraded to 1 mb line at 3 pm roughly. What a joke. I'm going to give them hell today.

switch to mweb

switch to mweb

I second that!

Unfortunately, on these forums it seems Mweb is the devil. People have some extreme, irrational hatred for them. The other day I even heard some guy claiming they remotely locked his router.

An un-branded router he bought from a shop. They locked it. Remotely.

So everytime one of us recommends them, if falls on deaf ears and the bull**** stories take preference.

The same guy that claims to have more than 10 years (can't remember the exact years) then when on in another thread & asked technical questions....

& no it was not just about new hardware that was new to him.

I don't know hey. I was originally with mweb but I got terrible speeds and value for money, Cybersmart is much better than mweb honestly. A 1 mb line for R499 and I can download about 50 gb per month if I need to max out my line, which I never do. I would probably have to double that price at mweb and get frustrated with speeds. I always got horribly shaped at mweb.

Perhaps in time I will give them another try but not now.

Office Mweb = Up
Home Webafrica = Up
Dial up Afrihost at work = Up

Axxess as slow as snail mail again this morning. Could not even have a Skype discussion with family overseas this morning.

Down 0.39Mb/s Up 0.11 Mb/s Ping to IS server less than 50km away 101ms. Cape Town area.

Speedtest.net says its Grade F+ slower than 83% of ZA
