Interestingly enough, ADSL in Cape Town was down, but it was working just
dandy in Worcester last night.

So, either Worcester has its own International Link, or we have some
new techies playing on the routers.

My money's on a misconfigured router (in Belville???)

AND I have the traceroutes to show if anyone wants to see.

I'm just a lowly PC Engineer,

Someone please explain to me how a line break in Malaysia would prevent me from accessing sites I usually access (you know... like Google) with the format: http://www.domainname.com.

Yet, NOT prevent me from accessing the same site by using an IP Address with the format: http://255.255.255.255

Are all DNS servers kept in Malaysia?

My company (in Claremont, Cape Town) uses Telkom ADSL and I had no problems accessing any sites all of yesterday. However, when I got home to my personal ADSL (Wynberg), there were problems.

Also, why is my traffic being routed through Malaysia when I know it's going to the US, the UK and Iceland?
