International down?

My Tracert slows down at 196.43.9.149

Pinging it results in a 1419ms average!!! So guess they are still attending!

throw away the 4GB unshaped, get a higher cap account and run freeproxy unshaped through clipse. tried it with skype last night and it works perfectly, seems to have eliminated the "they can hear me but i can't hear them" problem.

On Webafrica and I'm getting zilch apart from local sites.. Still way off my cap.

No Gmail, no torrents, no slsk, no nothing.... apart from local..

What gives?

Well, same here, on WA
Torrent is completely DEAD !!!

From yesterday afternoon till now already :(

We just received this from our IT guys as we use IS:

Internet Solutions are currently experiencing a critical degradation of Internet Solutions International Fibre Access Service between South Africa and New York. Traffic is being rerouted.

This will affect international Internet browsing and may result in slow international email traffic.

Another day, another international traffic outage from IS, or whoever is ultimately responsible. I'm fed up and angry. This is getting very frustrating as I cannot work without it, and this has now happened for three days in a row. If it's not local peering, it's international connectivity. I no longer care what the excuses are from any of the parties - if I had the resources I'd launch a class action lawsuit against the whole lot of the buggers. You can't charge ppl thousands of rands per month and then provide half baked service like this day in and day out. I see our international bandwidth via IS just came online again - but it's been out for half an hour prior to this. Breathe deeply, count to ten slowly.

/me thinks Telkom is testing some new form of hyper-shaping on the http...just trying to find a way to make life more miserable for us!
