I have problem where only get 1mbps over international and im on fibre 20mbps connection. locally it runs 100% though. so annoying

Was it always like that?
If yes, the it could be that your local break out is at 20mb but your international is limited to 1mb.

Changed the DNS to googles 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 , some sites now work, mybroadband and YouTube are still dead, Facebook sort of works but photos dont load....

Working here, but Telkom is still slow with 300 ms locally and no DNS settings help.
