So I want to Know will our ping from SA ever get better than 200ms from here to Europe? what will have to change to get better ping?

If you ping directly from a server in a data centre in Cape Town to a server in London over an ISP using SAT-3 then you might see around 150ms. You'll never see better than that unless you shift the continents around so that SA and Europe are right next to each other. So I want to Know will our ping from SA ever get better than 200ms from here to Europe? what will have to change to get better ping?

There will always be some extra latency from the core network out to the end user and that is normally a fairly fixed amount on each technology (ADSL, GPRS, etc)

I call some slight BS.
My friends in Cape Town get 150ms from their armchairs...
Your friend in Cape Town obviously sit on a fibre connection. 150ms is pretty much as low as it will go from CT<-->London.
The lowest adsl latency I have seen is 4ms. Latency from London to www.mweb.co.za which is in their DC before it even hits the IPC links, are 151ms solid, so the bare lowest your friend could get is 155ms, in which case I call your comment BS.He has Mweb uncapped and a Telkom account.

Maybe to portugal, but most definitely not to London.Lowest I've seen from SA to EU was on a server that sits in Web Africa's data centre in Cape Town, was between 120-130ms if I recall correctly.
