My friend just 384k ADSL installed today.
But the problem is, no international sites will connect, it just times out, its as if its just a local account. He has got 1Gb Telkom International.
Anyone had this problem once they just got a new line?
Has it got anything to do line strength?
THANKS

thanks guys, noticed its everyone now, phew

It appears that international isnt down its just extremely slow. I have the google toolbar and it connects to Gmail and shows me the feed from my inbox after a while, but I cant go and view the messages. This means there is data throughput but very slow... Perhaps certain routes are more "blocked" than others which explains why some sites better than others. Maybe an international link is down or something and traffic is bottlenecking other links??

There was two big earth quakes in Asia. Maybe the lines are down that side, now they are routing the traffic somewhere else.

Do you only have a SAIX account or do you use routesentry with 2 accounts?

Thought I'd try an experiment and try a few porn sites. They are flying faster than before.

So while the important stuff is down, porn is working. What do they expect us to do...

I guess it shows us what the people at SAIX regard as a priority. I guess its just them and their hands tonight
