www.gutenberg.org is fine via Datapro, but TelkomInternet says "A DNS lookup error occurred because the request timed out during the lookup". The response is instant, so I wonder about the "timeout"

BTW www.gutenberg.net just redirects to .org:

I can't get to various european sites, either via ADSL at home (saol) my server at IS, my server at UUNET or my server in the UK, although I have fewer problems trying from the UK

Can't access Wikipedia, nor drupal.org.

can access both of them from overseas dedicated server.
 
The Mozilla extensions site also not working for me, as well as Wikipedia and various European sites. The WHOLE WEEKEND now. Telkom really are pathetically useless, and we pay a fortune for this rubbish.
 
Still not working ... three days now!? Wikipedia is accessible again, but still can't access certain European sites.
 
been having erratic (or whatever they call it at the Helpdesk) connections since Saturday - they call it a 21 earth fault on the line

i have two broadband routers, a usb pots and a dialup modem, i can access the internet with the dialup via telkomsa.net but as soon as i click on this site, it kicks me off... funny one, that

i can stay online for about 3-5 minutes at a time with one of the broadband routers, then i cannot use the landline as there seems to be some interference

on top of it, we had a power cut of 8 hours today, so even if the guys at Telhom wanted to work on the problem, I wouldn't have been able to see if it was working or not

.org still dead this morning on SAIX! Every month there some new problem with SAIX. It's getting boring.
 
I just read that article regarding IS accounts being halted by Telkom....you know what screw IS and screw Telkom. It takes two to tango baby and both of them are to blame. My international speeds are uber crap and an apology is all they can do. People are paying a crap load of money for their more than pathetic service. But what's new...service delivery in South Africa sucks big time.

IS you better pull up your socks and start providing a good service to your customers. You are really terrible...terrible!

I know they are working on the problem but the fact that they can't even give us an exact date of when this will be sorted out just shows us once again we are dealing with incompetence.

Thanks for allowing me to get that out of my system.
