Hi there

I wanna have internet access at home. I am new to this ADSL thing. I want to browes, stream and some downloading. I see myself as a medium downloader so I am not into heavy downloading large file. Most youtube streaming movies are about 10 mins so i consider this light streaming. Download movies I may download will be about 50 mb or so. I do not know if this is heavy so correct me if it is. Will download maybe three or four per week.
I am looking at about 3 hours daily sitting in front of my laptop.

Any suggestion which provider, capped or uncapped and what plan I should sign up for best price.

Thks in advance

If you stream around 30 minutes of SD video per day from youtube and browse for another 2 hours 30 you will likely use at most 200MB a day. That's not a lot. You will probably get by comfortably with a 10GB capped account.

Just start off small (5GB?) and see how it goes.

384kbps is very slow, and can't stream any video smoothly. If you can afford it go for 1mbps or higher.

if it's just gona be youtube i'd go 30GB local, 1 gig international and split the trafic. hja, even at 240p 384kbps hooks and buffers a bit, so you may want to go faster.
btw the low-end to moderate downloader who knows how to use usenet does round about 800mB a day

Thks guys, money is not a real issue but again I do not want to waste money. I hate losing money. There are many streaming tubes beside Youtube. Most streaming movies in average 10 mins. So some are less or more in length in minutes. I also would like to go in Rapidshare's website for downloading. I had the MyAdvance 3gb from Vodacom but it went so quick. It takes me two days to use and it's gone. The month seem like years before I can use the internet the next month. The best part of this wireless 3G is it is exremely fast and you don't have to wait for the movies to run or for browsing. So I downgrade it to just 175MB Myadvance just to save money until my contract expires. can't wait!!! I still want internet so desider for the ASDL thing which is not so hard on the pocket. I see there are quite a few providers and can't make up my mind which one to choose. I applied for the Telkom line, so they say they come about two weeks time. I applied for the 1020kpbs line. So I wait patiently..............

in that scenario ( streaming from other sources) uncapped might be beter suited. note though that one-click file hosts are shaped to heck
