Internet Disconnecting

Internet disconnects once every few days around 2 am or morning and the SNR Margin(Downstream) 22.5 dB drops to 17 db.

Port resetting doesnt work half the time, but what works 100% is making a phone call just before router syncs and when internet light goes red i put down the phone then suddenly it connects.

The router is billion 400g and tried several of them and get same problem. My old aztech ones does same random thing also when i tested, but when my other router fails it connects fine so its confusing.

Any help on matter been doing this for few months and want it fixed and telkom hasnt found solution yet

Remove all the filters and the phones on the line. Only leave your router connected and monitor. Could possibly be the filters causing the problem.

Is it the same time everyday, 2 am in the morning? Do you have an alarm system? If you do, they probably connected your alarm into the telephone line without a filter and every time it dials out at a preset time, the ADSL line drops.

It seems like a line problem....call the number 10215 and ask them to test your line attenuation.

seems to be around 2 am every few days and tried without filters and phones

So far its been 4 days 12 hours without it happening so hoping it stays like this . Also got telkom to investigate it so waiting to see what happens.

We do have old alarm box in one room dont think its still working though.

I'm still getting random drops in speed to 200 kb/s from 400 kb/s affects games and downloads for few secs.

Atm its connecting to exchange erratically jumping from 8ms to 9ms to 10ms and sometimes more depending on day not sure if its related to it.
