Internet Exchange Revamp

A well supported Internet Exchange is one of the things which can benefit the local Internet and broadband market, and it is good to see that ISPA id driving this initiative. It will be great to see the likes of Telkom, Vodacom and MTN join JINX.

MTN already peers at JINX (see stats.jinx.net.za). I'd love to see Vodacom and Telkom there, but it waits to be seen if that will happen.
I do suspect that certain things that are coming down the line in the next couple of weeks/months will have a drastic effect on the traffic on the exchange. High on this list of things is the fact that with the greater availability of international bandwidth, it stands to reason that the size of the access circuits (and hence the amount of NATIONAL bandwidth being used) will also increase.
We will wait and see I guess
