Hi there, can anyone who use explorer 7 tell me if you also experience that it slow things down? I'm using it now for about 3 months, but something's not very lekker. A while ago I had a problem opening my gmail account, it just didn't open. Then I installed an old version of Firefox, and then it worked. People tell me firefox are better and faster, but I'm scared, because why is it faster? maybe security gaps? Or am I wrong?

I am using IE7 RC2, and found that after a web page is downloaded, it takes time before displaying the page. So long that at first I thought the web page is not available.
Some people like Firefox, I think it consumes a lot of memory. Currently I am using Opera.
If I must choose between Firesucks en Internet Exploder, I will choose Firesucks because I think that the security of the Fox is better.

Well you should definatley use the RC 1 or 2 before juding it, thngs got alot better with these realeases.

but much might not chnage speed wise. Try using the latest Opera (RC2 of 9.02 just came out today) or FF. You could also try FF 2 while you are going at the beta's, its got that nice spell checker and works fine, mostly..

Basically stay away from IE, if for no other reason, its Microsoft, and yes, it is less secure, but only slightly since IE 7.

As far as I know the IE7 has been released as the full version already. A month ago I think. Get it from the Microsoft site. I used it then dumped it...I'm a Maxthon fan!

I was unaware that IE 7 was already in RC2 phase.
Is this information legit?

 N7.1

Beta2 was much better than Beta3 IMO.
RC1 is very much on par with Beta2, performance and stability-wise.
RC2? No, not yet ;)

I really want to try ie7 RC1, how is the performance & stability? Are there any security issues? Is there a marked improvement to ie6?

What did you guys change to view flash (youtube) in this version. I keep getting the message that i don't have flash player, but it works through firefox

There is a marked improvement, go download it now!

I like the new phishing filter, it seems a bit faster, favourites are easier to organize, RSS instant feeds (cool), tabbed browsing, printing is better, you can specify google as your search engine, etc.

My major gripes :

1. Still in Beta debug mode, so it's very thirsty on your memory.
2. You can't move toolbars - extremely annoying.
3. If you're downloading wallpapers, pics, etc, the image toolbar doesn't work yet.

The standard buttons toolbar sits on the right, but you can't move it to the left. I'm a 'lefty', so it's extremely annoying.

The image toolbar comes into play when you've downloaded a wallpaper and you hold your mouse pointer on the picture. The image toolbar will pop up (very small) and you can just click on the little disk icon to save it.

Very nice, Much better than beta3, not very fast because I got phishing filter on, and also better than beta2 IMO. No complaints thus far.
No security issues picked up.
For one, I like the tabbed browsing and the style design they have done. Basically made everything just a click away, favorites, history, tools, etc.

I didn't change anyting, just worked AFAIK.

Use it, like it.. If anything, very stable and yeah, features are nice... There are a couple of small problems I am seeing in RC1, but I'm sure these will be adressed.

I got no complaints about it.

IMO, I think IE 7 can do with an internal download manager that supports resume and pause functions. That will make it more interesting.
