Internet Explorer 7 leaked online

Looked at the screenshots, and all I can say is: copycat
Really, can't MS stop using other peoples ideas? Firefox had these features ages ago.

I found some odd copy of it "lying around on the internet last year" - i thought it was crap - uninstalled it and carried on using Firefox.

Quite right.

I mean really... OMG TABBED BROWSING! SUCH A THING HAS NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE!

:D

Tabbed browsing rocks - BUT, is there any way that I can make "new windows" rather open in a new tab. For example, if I click the lick at the top of this thread, it opens in a new window (new instance of Firefox). Now, I know that the HTML says "open in new window", but it would be great if I can override this in Firefox (Open new windows in new tab Y/N type setting).

Any ideas?

I use Tabbed browsing in Safari all the time. IE 7 will probably never make it to the Mac so I won't even bother with it.

Can't you use Ctrl + Click in firefox to open a link in a new tab? I use Command + Click on my mac and it works in both Safari and Firefox.

Thanks, the cntrl thing works! Saves me a bit of frustration - although it would be nice to have this as a default setting.

From what I heard, MS no longer develops IE for Mac users (lucky Mac users....)

Firefox I assume u're talkin about.
Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Tabbed Browsing -> Open Links from Other applicaitons in : select A new tab in the most recent window. Apparently firefox considers itself to be an external app.
P.S. Im on FireFox 1.0.7

You can always right click and say "open in new tab"

Firefox rocks the party. I use IE purely for dev work (since my whole org. uses IE) and I recommend my users install it ASAP. The only issue I have is that 1.5 doesn't work properly with my ISA server and requires authentication for each and every element that loads.

I'm using IE7 Beta 1 (Build 5270) to type this post (Comes with Vista Beta 2).

It's similar to firefox, but there are quite a few extra things it has over firefox.
It also loads webpages about 50% faster than Firefox.

I like it. The security is very beefed up. I'd like to see it get spyware now.

Firefox will always rock :D

If only because IE is only better now because they're doing things they should have done ages ago whereas firefox did them from the word go.

Ah the whole, go for the open-source product because it get less viruses, spyware and so on.

Firefox is just a vunerable as IE, it's up to the user to look after their system.

Yeah that's always true... at the end of the day, the user has to realise that everything is vulnerable... just a matter of being careful. *shrug*

Moederloos, When I use the middel mouse button it opens links in a tab and if I want the link to open in a new window I just use the normal left click.

Installed it last night ... a rather strange user interface they have adopted.

I use the Maxthon browser; it uses the IE core but for tabbed browsing it works great. Just click on a link, move the mouse slightly and a new tab opens. You can also highlight a word/phrase on a page, drag it, and it automatically searches for that word in a search engine. Also has nice popup blocker functionality.
I primarily use Maxthon and Firefox.

internet explorer is in anyway slower than firefox/opera in my opinion.... :P (and full of crap)

I think its strange that mostly everyone moaned about IE not having tabbed windows, now that Microsoft have finally added the feature people throw around chirps like 'copycat'. Awesome guys.
