Hey everyone

Someone at work is having issues with their Internet Explorer (don't know why they are still using it but anyway). When starting it up it throws out this error:

Problem Event: APPCRASH
Application Name: iexplorer.exe
Application Version: 9.0.8112.16448
Application Timestamp: 4fecf1b7
Fault Module Name: 50a4c11be40bc.ocx
Fault Module Version: 1.0.0.7
Fault Module Timestamp: 50647ac2

and a bunch of other stuff that doesn't seem particularly relevant. I've tried disabling all add-ons - still has the problem. Reinstalled, still has the same issue. Tried looking on the net for some info but that hasn't been particularly useful. Not sure if I was looking in the right places then. I'm not sure what else to try.

Any ideas (other than forgetting about IE completely :)?

Hi There,
While it is frustrating to try and get to the root cause of a problem, Mouse suggestion is a good one.
Twicode's re[air option is one you should also try and do.

Upgrading to IE10 may not solve the problem if it is being caused by addins as the install will try and install them too.

Regards

Tim

Internet Explorer is no longer worth the while. IE 8, 9 and 10 are entry-level browsers for computer beginners who wants to learn how to use computers and basic Internet surfing. Internet Explorer has very limited capabilities when it comes to CSS3 and HTML5 - a new direction Internet websites are heading towards in masses. At least, in IE10 Microsoft will support just a handful approved websites built on HTML5 and CSS3, as for the rest of websites on the Internet, you will still not be able to view these sites properly.

In addition, Internet Explorer is full of bugs, which the company can not keep up with. It takes ages to come up with fixes and in the majority of instances the fixes just lead to other problems.

Do yourself a favour and upgrade yourself to a more professional browser, one used by the majority of professional computer users, programmers, developers and Internet users - Google Chrome.
