I am having an issue with IE9 x32 on Win7 x64. Every time I click on a link that should open a new tab or window, it either does not even open, or it opens a blank tab/window. It's not a BHO/add-on, I have started it in 'safe mode' with no extensions and add-ons.

I have already reloaded the entire operating system to fix this, but no luck  There was also a batch file I found on a site, which registers some DLL files. This has solved the problem to some extent, but still won't open more than 4 tabs. It's not hardware related, this used to work in the past. Due to corporate policy, another browser is also not an option.

Has anyone experienced this before?

That's bizarre, check the Software event log to see if IE is reporting any funnies there. Alternatively beg/bribe your IT department into giving you the proxy details so that you can use Firefox/Chrome.

Another browser is totally out of the question. The local intranet was designed for IE specifically :( But yes, very interesting, because I have not encountered any other application errors since this started happening.
