What exactly do you mean by "can no longer type addresses into my address bar"? Please provide more info.

Well I have IE7 & Firefox 3.0.4 (default browser) and on occasion I would use IE for the fun of it because I'm an old dog but I have learnt a few new tricks

As recommended, please use FF as your default and preferred browser, less hassle and no crashes.
