Going to buy my netbook :)

Any recommendations with regards to internet security for netbooks ? Are these specially modified software to be less computing intensive or plain jane software for desktops ??

I'm a big fan of Kaspersky :D

thanks - appreciate any input

If you are a fan of Kaspersky, use that. You could also try Microsoft Security Essentials - it's free, so if it doesn't work for you all you've wasted is time and a bit of bandwidth.

I would use a combination of ...

1) Microsoft Security Essentials (Free)
2) The built in Windows Firewall (More than adequate)
3) Firefox with several add-ons (eg. Ad-Blocker, no-script)
3) MVPS Hosts File (blocks unwanted parasites and browser hijackers) ... http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
4) MalwareBytes Anti-Malware... http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php (Also Free)
5) Your bank should also have a program that monitors the connection to the secure server (ask them what they use).
6) AutoRun Remover... (if you also want to protect your USB drivers) http://www.autorunremover.com/download.html (Optional)

Anything more than that is a waste of money and resources.
