Internet usage changes news industry

I mostly use my phone but I still enjoy reading a newspaper every now and then. I agree - would be sad to lose that option.

The m&g is on kindle. Wonder when myBB will get around to reviewing that. I took the trial sub and have 2 editions I'm yet to read:o

I get my newspaper on the train every morning, but still I browse the news sites on my phone after reading the paper.

Internet usage transforming news industry

The rapid growth of smartphones and electronic tablets is making the Internet the destination of choice for consumers looking for news, a report released Monday said.

yes it is many countries paying news paper bills are not affordable, and since people are so busy even though they buy news paper, no time to go through it, and they get to read all the news through online which is the simplest and easiest form

Agreed, online is much simpler, easier, cost effective(sometimes nothing if u're using a connection from work) and more up to date. News happens every hour/min/sec, all day, every day, and from what I understand, most newspapers only have 2 editions per day(morning and mid-day supplement), so with social and media networks, the internet is really up to date and accurate(well, most of the time anyway)....

Why does it have to be one or the other? Why not both? Different platforms cater to different needs and locales. To each his own.

This isn't a debate on internet vs the traditional newspaper......is it, just the plight of internet news being freely available and more convenient nowadays. I'm sure a lot of people DO choose both anyway.
