In HellKom country
All of us here are complaining about the present and what Telkom has astode upon on us  , but does anybody know, if there is anything in the pipeline from other companies that could get us out of this situation?

I'm not talking about the SNO, I will be supprised if they will have anything to offer by 2010.

It does make it very hard to provide anything without hooking into Telkom somewhere, and that automatically means a huge increase in the price your service should actually cost.

At the end of the day, due to this country being one of monopolistic values (duhhh....the government owns 40% odd of Telkom), we aren't going to get much done unless its with the SNO.

Take OpenWeb as an example. We would LOVE to charge a quarter of what we are charging now. We aren't out to make our millions. But guess what, we have no other choice. All we could do was lower our Profit to the lowest possible margin. So, being the cheapest ISDSL reseller in South Africa is great, BUT, we are cheap by South African standards....NOT international.

The worrying thing is: Telkom sets the South African standard!!
