Inverter and battery solution for load shedding

Apologies. I saw an extra zero in both the number of watts and the amount. :D

But still how do you charge the battery pack? If the inverter has a charger module as well for that price...then colour me impressed. In fact then I'd be interested in getting three or four as well.

Something amiss here. My 7.2 ah battery is powering router and a few other gadgets so far 3 hours without much discharge. Takes only an hour to recharge.

I had this battery pack that I kept as a back up to jump cars or take camping as a usb charger and light: http://www.adendorff.co.za/ProductD...RIC-Auxiliary-12V-Battery-Power-Pack-25AH/351

That obviously gets charged when the power is on.

I just needed the inverter and I am good to go.

All I need now is a 2 point multi-plug so that I can use more than one power point on the inverter.

where did you buy the plug that goes into the converter?

No, not at all. Mine is a Heath Robinson affair with mix and match items. Does not switch on automatically like a UPS. Power goes off and I pull mains plug and put it into my multi plug , connect inverter to battery and type this message.

Later I connect charger to battery and and use main to fill the battery again.

Works damn well although on manual….

AC to DC to AC is double conversion, so technically it's a single conversion if you are powering the router directly with dc ;)

Haha, fair enough. It is still completely isolated from the incoming power which is the "selling" point of double conversion online.
