Inverter Battery advice

Can you add 4 deep cycle batteries to the 2 lead acid that comes with this unit?

The Ellies 720w only comes with 1 battery AFAIK.
But yes you could parallel them all up, but are they all in a similar condition?
Never good to mix old and new batteries - esp in series don't do it!

But if they ever get flattened it's going to take a moorse long time to charge them up.
It's a cheap unit not designed to constantly charge at 20ah all day.

If it was me I wouldn't do it.
If 2 batteries isn't enough to see you through get a bigger system.

I would rather start putting money aside to save up to replace the 2 batteries with lithiums as adding more lead acids wont fix the problem which is not enough charging time.

It's the 1440w/2440VA - (24v - 65amp max input ) and it came with 2 x Lead acid 12w - 100mah.

I've got an additional 4 x Gel - same rating. Thought I'd connect them all and use it for the 4 hour load shedding. All same condition.


Obviously looking to keep all 6 at 24v but theoretically adding more batteries in parallel would increase the run time and reduce the drain, so they don't run flat.

That means less charging time, right?


Now to figure out how to convert 6x12v into 24v peak.

3 strings of 2 batteries paralleled together and install a balancer. If you have them then I don't see why not. Hopefully there is enough time to recharge because if there isn't then you destroy 6 batteries instead of 2. Set it to 20A setting.

Do all the batteries have the same resting voltage?

No idea about resting volts but I'll check. Will look into that balancer.

Can have three parralel strings of 2


But it means little as the device can only charge 1kw in 4hrs sure if you only worry for one session at night and will leave it to charge for tommorow night sure

As if you run down 6batteries they will take 16hrs to charge on that device , but naturally that is of you use all it has

If your usage is lesa than a kw you will get it full

If more you will inch towards empty

Lower stages can let them recuperate

The problem is lead acid you never get the capacity just the way it is peukert

As long as you have them you can parallel them a bad battery can drag a good battery down though so do check in on them from time to time

You can connect them like these options one requires 3 balancers the other just 1

For a little peace of mind my 750w gaming beast of a pc

draws 230w with screen on and this is mining full blast to give you an idea of consumption
This is hardware dependant
My kids pc hurts me ie it klaps 500w at times

He would have to google the consumption of his gpu/cpu
