I have been having issues with FNB of late regarding to releasing funds, homeloan issues .etc

I currently have a FNB private wealth account. I am considering moving to Investec, is this a good option? Anything to note? Advantages or disadvantages?

Currently with FNB I have a business account, cheque account and my homeloans. Should that make a difference.

I jumped ship many years ago from FNB to Investec. Private family account, Private account and Business account.

Their homeloan and vehicle financing interest rates are the best. You want anything at all, you just send a message to your banker. He comes to my home once a month and gives advice on what to invest in for free...well you do pay for it in a way.

He will even send coffee and a hooker to you if you want, and charge you a delivery fee and misc fee at the end of the month.

We also had some issues with Private Wealth recently, mostly with forex stuff.

A couple of terse, but polite, phone calls to our banker, and now things are a lot smoother.

Maybe request a different banker? I know the banker makes all the difference in the service you receive.

Investec couldn't or wouldn't beat my FNB rates (FNB at prime -1.15% for home loan).

They only wanted to offer prime -1% (and not comp any of the bond reg fee's) - so I stayed with FNB.

Investec over the past couple of months have been a very ...trying... experience.
Their interest rates are good though, but the costs are ridiculous and the service is what you get at all the online banks (as in equally poor)
They nearly paid 10x the amount I requested to the account (I double checked luckily before they processed), they are slow in processing, etc, etc
Had better experience at Capitec (overall)

Can't comment on FNB, but investec are good in terms of service - generally, but depends on your banker.

You may land up with a crap banker at investec when you could have had a brilliant one at another bank.

Then you request a new one.

Recently moved from RMB to Investec as well, due to better service from Investec. eBucks is definitely better than Investec Rewards but it was not worth the lack of service.

Fnb service is near non-existent. Can anyone recommend a decent banker?

I was with Investec for 10 years, it was my first bank after Varsity. I'm now with FNB PW. I get around R30k per annum in ebucks. I'm about to purchase return tickets to Greece with ebucks.

Service is slower compared to Investec and if you require a bond they offer worst rates compared to Investec intially, but with a bit of negotiations they eventually offer the best rates.

with FNB PW.

Service is pretty bad for our needs.

Not to mention their IT people are useless.

And yesterday my fnbci.co.uk username somehow overwrote my fnb.co.za username, despite these being two completely separate entities.

I hear you, my bother is an expat and is pulling his hair our dealing with FNB. Investec service levels are much better, especially if you're not in SA.
