Invincible PC components

This reminds me. I have a customer who runs a pipe bender at his factory using a 386sx I built for him about 12 years ago. The components were already old by then.
AMD 386SX 25. 2MB RAM. Hercules Graphics, Mecer amber screen. IIRC a 40MB HDD. Connected by either parallel or serial port to the machine it controls. Runs Win 3.11. Using a hardcore IBM AT KB made in 1988. No mouse. Looks like **** by now. The only maintenance it ever needs is the PSU fan cleaned.

I know this is old, but makes interesting reading..

I have a pair of Mecer SP-689 speakers bought new in mid 1998, they still sound amazing, despite 21 years of use.

I needed a case urgently for my i5 build, and the only spare case I had, was an old Mecer case from the late 90s, which originally housed a Celeron 366mhz CPU, and 32mb RAM. Looks old fashioned, and is as solid as a tank, lacks front USB ports, but still does the job of keeping everything in place, like a case should.

As far as other components go, I have a Sony hi8 stereo video camera from 1996, still working for R150 at the local flea market, which I plan to use for work. (I transfer tape to DVD/PC)

Have a Philips VCR from 2000, and a LG VCR from 1997, the LG actually at some stage had the macrovision stripped.

I still have my Cambridge PCWorks FourPointSurround which was produced in 1998. I have three sets. Two originals and the later Desktop Theatre 5.1. Then Creative came into play.

Upgraded my PCWorks FourPointSurround to a Creative Inspire T6200 and added a Logitech Z5500. All still in use.
 
Original Razer Diamondback Plasma, got it in 2005 so 14 years, only issue is one of the feet came off long ago. Don't use it anymore cause strangely enough even a cheapish Redragon now outperforms it.
 
Well if your talking about IBM PC, I would have to say this Mecer 386 (Cyrix 486SLC) from 1996 that I got, still working and hardly had to change anything on it :), I do have older but this one I had to do absolutely nothing to it just worked, so its more bullet proof in my mind lol


If you want even older non, IBM PC I have a Commodore Pet :3
 
I have an S3 Virge 1MB somewhere... Still worked last time I checked.
 
Hmm I'm still running a old 775 system with a E6700 OC to 4Ghz and a GTX470. Runs perfect to this day.
