Invisible hacker farmers

Hey

Has anyone else noticed the "invisible farmers" , ive been farming ore and its become quite frequent where i get to a node and i can hear someone mining it, when i try mine it it says someone's already busy with that, then the node disapears. Now and then you manage to get a glimpse of the person but they disapear into the environment without a trace , It seems like they are using some sort of clipping hack to run through all the obstacles like mountains and stuff to run straigh to the ore.

After being away from wow for so long its terrible to see so many hackers getting away with this sort of thing , whats the point of spending hours farming trying to make some cash when these little chumps abuse the game and control the markets. I tried reporting this but the ticket has been pending for ages so i do not know what the outcome is.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
 
ore dissapears yes thats normal, there can only be certain amount per area so they sort of linked if someone mines at 1 place yours will dissapear, then spawn on another location.(thats just theory that nodes are linked, i cant confirm it though)

because it happens allot in busy areas sad to see the titanium ore dissapear when mining it.

but no people should not be able to ninja the ore just infront of you
 
I've read this kinda thing before on the official WoW forums. I haven't seen it happen though as I'm not a big farmer.

Don't think hereticangel's theory is correct though. If you can hear the ore being mined then something must surely be there?
 
Ever heard of phase shifting?
Look it up.
The areas where phase shifting is implemented in the game is ice-crown and quite a few others, you did not indicate which area you are experiencing the ghosts.

Those who have summonsed people to an ICC run may have noticed that they cannot see some people because they are out of phase with them.
It makes summonsing people for ICC a hit and miss experience, cos 2 people can run out to do the summoning, and only once they're outside will they realise that they cannot see each other, and therefore cannot perform the summon.

He's probably talking about WG or other areas as well. It's definitely not phase shifting as if you enable nameplates, you will notice people "swimming/flying" under the ground. These are speed hackers who travel to well known or documented gatherer points and mine from under the ground making them immune to all spells and abilities bar one (deathgrip)
 
Ive noticed this a bit. I was on a laggy connection at the time so I figured I was lagging behind the original miner.
 
Aaah cool, so they get under the ground at a "weak" point, and then they can fly around in bird form unobstructed by trees and all that.
Interesting.
 
Not a weak point in the terrain per say. They use the same technique as the flying gold spammers in major cities to teleport to a certain X Y Z co-ordinate, and then the flawed game engine takes over from there.

Had this experience on Sunday. To guys went out to summon a third and they were out of phase. I also went out because I knew I was on the same phase as one of the guys.

It might have been a phasing issue, but I doubt it. You don't hear any sounds from phases that you are not it. Most likely it's a speedhack. All you can really do is try to find the hacker's name and report them.

I haven't seen any hackers on my server. I have seen the flying gold spammers hack in cities though. Apparently, using the Piccolo of the Flaming Fire on them disrupts them badly, so I farmed it to try it out. Haven't run into another group yet.

There was a glitch in a wall in Stormwind where you could jump through and fall on the "base" of Azeroth. For rogues it's fine, plate wearers hurt a bit. From there I could run on a flat untextured land from Stormwind through to Ironforge , Burning Steppes etc. It was really quite cool and a lot of Horde used it to attack Alliance members with ranged attacks. Careful though, you could get a permaban for "exploiting" the game if you're found exploring around in there.

If you're bored enough like I was it's quite fun to see the underside of Azeroth ... and at some points you can climb back out onto normal land ... that way you can discover the void mountain area between Stormwind and Ironforge.
 
yeah with mage u can blink under orgemar , or at the entrance you can charge under it, so yeah there is some places, i do not know of any in icecrown etc.
 
I can't believe im the only one that has noticed this , all i do these days is join the queue for random heroic and during the 10-15min wait time i farm, I only farm icecrown so wether its zone specific or what i do not know, all i know is people are running through mountains and farming invisibly. I aproached a ore node and immediately i could hear someone mining it, i got the message "someone is already busy with that" msg when i tried to mine it so i spammed tab and i managed to target a horde char named antazia i hit her with a sleep shot and tried to kill but i could not see her, all i could see was my arrows going into the mountain, she got out of range and dissapeared. later i spotted her again at a different location but again she dissapread into the terain so i dunno.

I will try fraps this and put it on youtube
 
You most likely saw a botter or Gold Farmer grab your node from underground. There are various places where you can go under Wintergrasp without hacks.

There is one in Wintergrasp, on the architecture above the fort where you wedge yourself in to a corner and mount up (Mammoth works best) and exploit the geometry/clipping like that. A similar one on the east side of Icecrown Citadel where you can get underneath Icecrown Citadel, from there there is a square hole in the ground which you enter and you can access any part of Northrend underground.

I have filed many tickets and forum posts in regards to these two cliphacks/exploits and am baffled as to why they haven't been hotfixed yet. It's been like this the whole expansion.

I also know a few on how to get underneath capital cities, but this proves of no advantage to anybody and is not really as gamebreaking as the Northrend ones.

The reason that they dont get caught is because they arent hacking the system, but rather exploit ti.

The possibilities are:
Super speed (up to 5000%)
Invisibility
Plane to Plane shifting. Puts you under the plane (ground) to do whatever you want to
Teleportation
Sacle changing
Wall Climb
No Fall Damage
Hyper mode (Makes eveything around you go vey fast, but at a very slow pace.
Air Jump
Rosetta Stone

So whatever you think is happening, it can be possible.

Half of what you listed sound like hacks...

Diesel I'm looking forward to any Youtube clips on this... I've had mineral veins give me the same error (without the sound effects)

Nope. Right coding can make the game run in any way you want. "hacks" are these:

Duplicating items
Unlimited Health or Mana
Packet Editing
Adding false Gold
And alot more

Don't get confused with hacking and exploiting bud

Either way, manipulating the game world is against TOS/EULA... the Addon AVR (allows you to put marks/shapes/objects ingame visible to anyone with the addon - great for boss strategies) is considered illegal and will be dealt with via a hotfix

Yes , manipulating the game world is Illigal.
Problem is, no one is doing it. Manipulation of the Game World is where you can change the raw data of the server, which is only possible by Packet Editing.

Packet Editing is a hack <- Very bad.

Exploiting cant easily be patched, because what you are doing is on a base of the client core. Exploiting doesn't touch any thing server sided, this means it has no manipulation effects on the World, or any other character.
To remove exploits, we would have to download a whole new client engine <- Also Very Bad
 
And using exploits will also get you banned. Depending on what you did, it can be a temp ban or a perma-ban. All of the items you listed will get you banned if somebody reports you, just as using a bot will.

There is the one guild that used an exploit in the LK fight and got a temp ban as well as have the achievements/items/etc reversed.

You don't need to download a whole new client to fix an exploit. Just a patch to the current client.
