iOS 14.4 launched - Update your iPhone now

Apple has rolled out iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4 for supported iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch devices.

The changes this time around are not as significant as with update 14.3, however, they include essential security patches for vulnerabilities which Apple said “may have been actively exploited”.

This includes a bug in the operating system’s Kernel code which could allow a malicious application to elevate privileges on the device.

It was still like that probably a year or two ago, the day after updates released the traffic went through the roof in the *INX exchanges.

Otherwise, why would it notify you that the camera installed in your phone is not genuine?

Is that really such a huge issue that they had to add detection for it into the OS? The camera's in particular? Like is there a gang out there doing pirate repairs on iPhone 12's specifically to steal the camera? If it detected all pirate repairs then great stuff, but I would honestly think that a bigger issue is the replacement of batteries with pirate parts. Those batteries can be used in many more applications than a camera designed for a phone.

If I'm considering purchase of a high-end second-hand iPhone, I would be grateful for that feature. As would most. Besides, it cost zero to bake the detection feature into code. So, why not. I don't understand your murmuring.

Just find it a weird thing to be in the article is all. Surely there are other improvements better than this or has ios reached the point where things like that are the best they can come up with?
