iOS 9 GM released

I wouldn't bother. Apparently it's not that much different then beta 5. People still complaining about laggyness. Apple really have dropped the ball with iOS 9 and iPhone 6s.

Ive been running the 9 beta on an iPhone 5s, 6 and iPad Air 2. I haven't seen any lag on any of them. iOS 9 beta has been better than any version of iOS 8 in the opinion and experience.

I had beta 5 on my 6 and it was laggy, not smooth as I expect it to be. Had to go back to 8.4.1.

Funny how everyone has a different experience.

I'll wait till more reports are out before jumping onto iOS 9.

I'm still running iOS 9 PB3 (which is supposed to be the same as dev5), it's absolutely smooth on my iPhone 6.

The GM is absolutely buttery smooth on the iPhone 6.

No complaints whatsoever.

All the apps seems to be working, bar the one SA-developed one I have installed: News24. No big surprise there that it isn't ready for iOS 9.

On which devices are they complaining about laggyness, and in what sense do you feel that Apple dropped the ball?

IOS 9 GM

That is out, works good no issues since I installed it last night with existing apps.

All devices, 5/5s 6/6+. While I personally haven't installed GM, I'm following MacRumors forum and majority of people are not impressed. I tested out beta 5 on my 6 and I was not impressed either. Did not feel buttery smooth to me. I moved back to 8.4.1.

Judging by comments on macrumors, GM is not that much different from beta 5 in terms of stability and performance.

Remember Apple's WWDC keynote where they claimed that they are redoing iOS 9 from the ground up and promised better, smoother, stable performance and better battery life? Well, can you honestly tell me that you feel Apple has lived up to that promise on their GM?

Perhaps it will be better by 9.4.1, but by then iOS 10 will be around the corner and so we go round in circles.

My personal opinion.

My personal opinion.

That might be your opinion, but in actual use even 9pb1 was less buggy than any version of iOS 8. If Apple did drop the ball, it was with iOS 8. iOS 9 is an improvement in every way possible.

Well let's see. I will install iOS 9 GM and see how it performs compared to iOS 8.4.1. My last attempt at installing iOS 9 beta 5 was bad.

I haven't seen much in the way of lag since installing it - but I've only been using it for a few hours.

I do like the improved optional passcode (6 numbers instead of 4) but it's going to take some time to retrain my brain :)

After using iOS 9 on my iPhone 6 for a few days, I have to say, it's slower than 8 and it lags. Feels like I'm using a bleedy Samsung

Eagerly awaited the public release on the 16th; my iPhone & iPad; along with the wife's iPhone; are waiting based on all the positive iOS 9 comments

It's nothing specific really.

iOS 8 just made the device feel old and slow (which to be fair it is).

As if there was too much going on overloading it. Keyboard delays especially.

Things like multitasking taking ages to come up etc.

iOS 9 just seems to handle the old device much better.

My iPad2 was virtually useless before the update to 9.
