iOS 9 GM released

Wondering if I'm going to need to update my iPad 2, my kid uses it and finding some apps not compatible with IOS7 anymore.

Already updated iPhone 5S and iPad3, iPad 3 still feels as sluggish as IOS8.

The iPad 3 has always been sluggish. :o

Upgraded within iTunes. Didn't setup as new.
Will it make a difference if I do a clean install and then restore the backup?

Well, there 2 schools of thought. I fall into the category of those that prefer to setup as new phone.

Still use iCloud but reinstall my apps via iTunes. If you experiencing performance issues then I would suggest setting up as a new device. That includes unusually high battery drain too.

I've been updating since iOS6.

Last time I did a clean install was after jail breaking that.

Thanks. Will give it a go and report back

Also having plenty wifi issues. It will switch to 3G all though wifi is selected. It does this every few seconds.

Will do a clean install.

Is anyone having issues with this release where the phone freezes for about 30seconds then "catches up" per se. I've done this update on both my wife and my iPhone 6's(not 6s :P) and we both having the same issue and this has only started after the upgrade?

The iOS 9 GM is absolutely terrible. Tried it and dumped it for the 9.1 public beta which is a lot better.

I only get keyboard stutter on initial launch of the keyboard after a restart and I still get stutter in the music app. Seriously, when is Apple going to get the music app to as smooth as the rest of the OS?

Occasionally the mail app on my side does this. Granted, I have more than 10 accounts on it. But I never had this issue on 8.

Perhaps a fresh install is what is needed cause it seems only people that have upgraded are having issues.

If do a clean install with iOS 9 GM, it works just great.

Definitely faster than iOS 8 on the iPhone 6, although not by a huge margin.

Upgrades may differ of course, and I cannot vouch that the case will be the same for older devices.

One weird thing I noticed across iOS 8 and 9, is that even if you do a clean install, it remembers some of the wifi passwords that you previously used.

If you clean install and setup as a new device, it can't remember previous passwords. If you clean install and restore from backup via iTunes or via iCloud, then it's possible.

That's what I thought as well, but after I did a clean install (only contacts were automatically restored from iCloud) last week of iOS 9, the phone happily connected to my dentist's network today while sitting in the waiting room, although I have not specified the password again. Strange, but true.

To be clear, it doesn't remember all the passwords, it seems to select one randomly from your previous networks, although never your primary one. I thought I was mistaken the previous time I noticed this, but this time around I am sure about it.
