iOS 9 Jailbreak

I don't understand why I can't download the 9.0.2 ipsw and restore my iPad mini then Jailbreak it??

Can you explain? Or has it got something to do with the signing of 9.0.2?

Yeah, iTunes will simply not allow you to downgrade a version of iOS.

Exactly, when installing iOS iTunes checks with the Apple servers for the integrity of the update and if it's the latest version, if it's not the latest you simply can't update.

I would actually stay on 8.4.1 for a bit since the jailbreak already exists, someone just has to package it up with a GUI and release, that will probably happen before the next new jailbreak is released.

Ok. So what will you recommend? Stay on 8.4.1 or upgrade to the latest version? Seeing that I can't jailbreak either of them.

See if there are any 'nice to haves' for you on iOS 9.1 over 8.4.1, check differences between versions here:

Otherwise sit tight and wait for a jailbreak. Hopefully one gets released before your iPad gets dropped from updates.

Remember that the general experience with older devices is that they can get a little slower when running the latest software.

In simple terms - since the iPhone 3GS every restore of a firmware needs to be vetted by Apple. A challenge/response is sent between your iPhone and the Apple servers, and if this succeeds then the firmware is applied to the device.

In the past the response from Apple could be cached, and you could reapply older firmware to the device by pretending to be the Apple server. That was closed, and you can only apply firmware to the device that Apple wants you to.

Desperately need the iOS 9.1 jailbreak, can kick myself for upgrading iPad 2 to iOS 9.1, the thing is now a brick.
