Inevitable, if you'd explained a bit more on WHERE this IP routing was going to get enabled, and on WHAT operating system, and WHAT you are trying to achieve, and WHY you think you need it enabled rather than just asking what "IT" does, then perhaps you wouldn't have gotten such a rash reply.

The fact is, that your question has to qualify as one of the most useless as far as questions go. There is no background info, there's NOTHING.

Just : "what does ip routing do?"

Well, naturally with that limited bit of information from your side, nobody can usefully answer it. It's like asking: "what does dingle fang pumping do?"

Inevitable, it's great that you ask questions.. and great that you
use this forum... BUT... understand that it becomes quite frustrating
for many forum members who are daily trying to help/assist/answer questions
with little or almost no input.
Someone like The Rodent puts in a lot of time and effort into this
forum (along with many others) and they do it often purely to assist
new users… with no reward or other hidden agendas.
i.e. How many times are we going to have to read another stupid post
as to when CT.. is going to go live!!!! Don’t ppl actually read
previous posts????
