I still have my ipad 2 and yes I know it is very old. It cannot get any new updates but I want to use it for my hikvision camera system so that I can display it in my kitchen. Chrome and Safari says it cannot detect a plugin as I tried to access my cameras via web browser.

Youtube and the apps that were on there still were perfectly fine. Just it is very old in terms of software but I am sure there is a way around it. Can anyone help?

Seems like such a waste to just throw it away.

No idea. My iPad 2 sits in a cradle in my kitchen and I use it with Safari to google recipes. Works like a dream.

I tried to find a solution for my old iPad mini but with no luck. Besides, Hikvision keeps stopping for me on any iPad I’ve tried it on. Sometimes it runs for an hour, sometimes 2 or 3. Even on the latest ones. It’s really not worth the hassle even if you did get a solution.

Hikvisions plugins are usually crap. They barely work on a destkop or laptop - I wouldn't ever expect them to work on a phone or tablet.

The best I can imagine is getting something in between that takes the camera's streams and restreams it into a format the iPads can understand?

No way to update beyond what Apple allows and supports for the specific device.
