Hi

I am considering upgrading my data contract and getting an iPad.

I see currently only the iPad Air is available, but according to GSMarena the iPad Air 2 was released internationally in October 2014.

Does anybody perhaps know when it is due for release in SA, as I'd rather wait for it if it is due to be released soon?

Thanks.

Also thinking of replacing my iPad3 which seems so klunky next to the airs.

I'm busy typing on a 64GB iPad Air 2. R9999 from my local iStore. iStore is so crap compared to official Apple Stores. Such a shame Apple outsources their SA retail presence.

Anyway, the device is amazing. So fluid and fun to use. I'm not a fan of iOS at all, but blown up big like this is definitely the best tablet experience I've ever seen. Battery life is immense, the screen is awesome, it's so thin, wifi and cell reception is great, the camera is surprisingly competent and the device never stutters. Reading magazines, newspapers and comics is also awesome.

Can't recommend it enough. Android Lollipop on tablets would need to be much smoother than KitKat to rival this thing.

It's not like I'm going to buy a Mac or iPhone. It's just a nice tablet. Unfortunately it's out of most people's price range, so it doesn't even matter.

my Opinion is = one cant live on one platform. I have an Macbook (that I love) LG G3 (android) ; work is all windows or linux enviroments. I enjoy them all. iPad for sure is very good tablet compared to its rivals.

With Continuity between iOS and OsX Yosemite I'd have to disagree - living with one platform is a dream.

So I got my Air 2 64gb over the weekend.

This is my first Apple device, after being on Android devices for 5 years or so.

So far, I feel relly limited in what the iPad will allow me to do... As the interface is really "basic".

Hopefully it's just my skills that need to be improved and not a characteristic of ios.
