Don't do Apple AirPort Extreme.

It's a great device but the signal is pretty poor.

How large is the area you want to cover? Most normal houses won't require any repeaters.

Yeah I know the apple products have bad signal.
It's probably going to need to cover the inside of the house which is smallish. A few rooms.

But I think I must cover some of the garden so he is not confined to one area.
I think I must get just a standard TP-Link MR-3240 for the 3G portion and then maybe two of those ubutuiti disk things.

I think that should cover every where I need it. But what speeds are those ubuquiti things?

802.11 b/g/n - up to 300 meg

The UAP-LR (which is the model I got) has a 100meg Ethernet port so your connection to the router is 100meg.

Best part is that it carries power over the Ethernet cable so you don't need the power plug to be near where the AP is.

Ok cool, so then that TP-Link and like two of those disk things should be fine right?

I no one seems to have stock of them tho.
