You have one hell of a good spellchecker, your posts are in many cases more literary perfect vs mine.

Btw I'm also like you at home in code... but also re my long term hobby quite at home in design, helps a lot in my line of work.

Its called Linux(auto complete) + red lines, if I have a red line under text I know it needs to be replaced so I pick the top one from the list. If it doesn't have a recommendation I copy to Google a search + paste back here with whatever it recommended.

I can appreciate that, pity that Tapatalk on the iPad in my case only uses Apple's auto broken feature :(

What do you mean by that? If you disable autocorrect in iOS isn't it systemwide? If enabled, possible spelling mistakes are still indicated by a red squiggle underline and spelling suggestions are but a tap away.

More like I've never experimented with switching it off, didn't realize that I'd be left with the red squiggles.

You're on a roll with good advice :)
Thanks switched it off now and so much happier.

(If this is real), it probably won't be retina, it'll be 1024x768. That'll be ok with me though. It will be a cheaper device.

Cutting out features to bring costs down and target a cheaper end market...just doesn't seem very Apple-like. Hence why I'm still fairly sceptical of these reports.

Glad a couple of people found the tip useful. Once you build up a custom library of auto correct words like I'm, iPhone, OsX, etc you get the best of both worlds imo. :)
