iPad to remain top for years

Whether it's Gartner or a little old Witch and her crystal ball, no one can predict the future of Tablets and more especially their market share. I mean what are Gartner trying to say; a 1st year university student who knows derivatives can come up with these stats.

The Tech market is to uncertain for any predictions, the fact that they didn't care to include Microsoft shows their biggest flaw.
I'm pretty sure the same people in Gartner couldn't even predict the production and sale of tablet PC's two years ago, that have completly shaken up the Smartphone market.
Apple will steadily lose it's share to the likes of Samsung and Motorola and more importantly ANDROID.

I agree - Anyone who has seen an Android 3.0 based tablet device (Motorola Xoom) should understand!
I think Gartner have it completely wrong here.

As I said in another thread I reserve judgement till Android is actually on the table.

You have allot of people that want Android tablets and did not buy one yet because their manufacturer of choice's device is not out yet. So you can not do a direct comparison to iPad vs Xoom as that numbers will not reflect reality. The fact that I dont have a Xoom doesn't mean Android failed or is even not selling well. It just means the Tablet I want is not on the market yet.

Ask again closer to December when we have all the cards on the table.

PS Android phones only came into play last year, that was 2 years after the iPhone and it is constantly growing at one hell of a speed with no end in sight so stating that iPad won based on last years figures just means they where 1st to tap the market. As Google doesn't make any money out of Android and the fact that its an anti-product. Its actually a good thing they give Apple a head start, I dont want one dominating OS in the market
