Hi.

I have been happily using my iPad 3G for a couple of months now with no problems. After the IS update everything still 100%.

A few days ago I received the message "you are not subscribed to a cellular data service" when I tried to connect to the internet (Twitter also flashed some error).

I have a 3G Vodacom contract and have a "twin call" where my primary sim is in my 3G wireless router and the other sim in my iPad.
My 3G router works fine (when it feels like - but that's another story) and the two sims are never on at the same time.

I have done a sim swap with my iPads sim but it still get the same error.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Note: I have reset the iPad (network settings, full reset etc.)

have tried you tried to change the apn to "internet"?( please use without the inverted commas ) then hardboot the device by taking out the sim and switch the it off. then switch on after a few minutes

HI.
Yes, I have tried to change the APN to internet but still the same error. It's weird as it "was" working without APN settings.

i hope someone with the same problem can help you. i tried to help with customer with an ipad and with iphone 4 and it worked. this morning i tried to help a customer with a iphone 3 and nothing happens so advises him to call 082155. don`t know if they can help you.

good news! 082155 can help the person with the iphone 3 call them. they just activate the iphone apn on the sim and it`s working again. he came back to tell me the good news.

Sorry homeboy. I did what you suggested (this time I waited longer before rebooting and removed & replaced sim whilst off) and it did indeed work.
You are my hero - thanks a million :)
