iPhone 1.1.2/1.1.3 OTB Software only unlock

Has anyone tried this ZiPhone thing yet?

Yes, I have...

I firstly did a 1.1.2 restore with iTunes and only activate + jailbreak with ziphone to be used with my turbosim and it only took 30 seconds from restore to activated and Jailbroken.

Then I tried a 1.1.3 restore and unlock which worked and completed in under 3 mins but ziphone downgrades the Baseband again to 4.02 to unlock since 4.03 baseband seems unlockable for now.

Awesome app even though zibri has angered many by leaking jerrysim(nothing to do with ziphone though) :D

I upgraded my 4.02 baseband to 4.03

Using baseband updater in Installer..

So your saying ur google locate me function doesnt work without running LocateMe or Navizon at least once? Cos mine works without the Navizon thing.

I still need to try those out and let you know, ziphone downgraded my baseband which is meant to fix baseband issues that people where having.

Edit:
AFAIK Baseband upgrade to 4.03 is only meant for 3.9BL iPhones I'm on 4.6
Ziphone only unlocks 4.6BL phones but activates any iPhone

4.03 baseband unlock only works with 3.9BL for now

Hmm well if it helps at all, here is the guide i used to upgrade the baseband

http://modmyifone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30019

Start from "Step 6: UPDATING BASEBAND TO 04.03.13_G AND UNLOCKING 1.1.3 TO USE WITH ANY GSM SERVICE PROVIDER"

Its as simple as:

Go to sources click edit then ADD add this on the url address: i.unlock.no then click OK after it's done refreshing tap add again and add installer.iClarified.com click ok then click done after the refresh then tap REFRESH to refresh the sources. Go to install and open iClarified
Install BASEBAND UPDATER. Should take around 5mins. Once it's done, reboot your iphone. You should have 04.03.13_G BB

Confirmed working by me...no problems at all yet

Good luck

P.S Can i ask where you got your phone from and for how much?

That tutorial is for 3.9 BL only I'm 4.6BL

I bought my iPhone locked using google checkout and product search...

I found this store...
http://www.negrielectronics.com/apple-m-48.html
because most places where sold out or overpriced with the Christmas rush, Google checkout made my purchase easy and I was able to track it from my Google checkout page.

I had it shipped to my US mailing address and they shipped it to my house.

I posted the costs before in a different thread...

How do u check what Boot Loader you have?

I'm using the TurboSIM now, but I want to get rid of it.... Tried ZiPhone didn't manage to detect my phone in CMD.... Im thinking that i'm on 3.9BL??

Excuse the newb... Only got the phone yesterday...

PS: R6900 for it unlocked with TurboSIM. Know someone that brought in 400 into the country...

You say you have a US mailing address? How does that work? Can i get one?
We are going OT here but anyway...

Yes, you can get one at...
USA2me
http://www.usa2me.com/
or myUS
http://www.myus.com/

There is a fee to sign up.

I used myUS, they charge a monthly fee but I asked them to suspend my account after I had received my goods which they did now I'm not paying for the account but I cant use them until I notify them again.

USA2me has the bronze account which does not have a monthly fee but they add a few dollars to your shipment.

Is it possible that we can maybe get back on the topic.. Got a locked phone infront of me :0

lol...

The easiest way is manufacture week...
Here's how to determine if your iPhone has the new 4.6 bootloader:

On the back of the phone (or, if the phone is unopened, on the back of the box), you will see the serial number. The 4th and 5th digits in the serial number are the week your iPhone was manufactured.

If your iPhone was manufactured in the week 44 or less: Your iPhone has the 3.9 bootloader and can be unlocked.

If your iPhone was manufactured in the week 45: There is a slight chance your iPhone may have the 3.9 bootloader (that is unlockable), but an even higher chance that your iPhone has the 4.6 bootloader (that is not unlockable).

If your iPhone was manufactured in the week 46 or over: Your iPhone has the 4.6 bootloader and cannot be software unlocked currently.

Note: All European iPhones come with the 4.6 bootloader and cannot be unlocked.

How to Check iPhone Firmware from Packaging Box Serial Number

If you want to know your iPhone firmware version without unwrap and open up the package, the serial number of iPhone wrote on a sticker on the box may provide you some hint. In fact, if you order a phone online from Apple, it’s possible to see what is your iPhone’s serial number when you check your invoice online, even before before the phone arrives at your hand.

A typical iPhone will have a serial number in the following format: 7T727XYZWH8

The serial number is made up of several blocks which have its own meaning, as explain below:

Digits 1 to 3 (7T7) = Year / Batch code
Digits 4 to 5 (27) = Week of manufacture
Digits 6 to 8 (XZY) = Unique identifier part of the S/N
Digits 9 to 11 (WH8) = 8Gb model

The only significant number in the serial ID number to help you guess which firmware version your iPhone has are digit 4 and digit 5, which show week of manufacturing of the iPhone. It has been known that iPhone version 1.1.1. started shipping to customers from week 39 onwards.

So if your 4th and 5th digits in iPhone serial number is less than 39 (38 or lower), it’s almost certain that the iPhone as firmware 1.0.2. If the number is greater than 39 (40 and higher), it’s also almost certain that the firmware in iPhone will be 1.1.1 or newer. Grey area is when the digits is 39, where the iPhone has equal chances to be 1.0.2 or 1.1.1. To actually check the correct firmware version, you have to use other methods listed below.

Appreciate your help bud... In CMD it remains here:

Loading zibri.dat.
Searching for iPhone...
Working...

How long does it need to Bring up the 2'30" line. It has been 5 minutes already.

No Turbosim I am 100% unlocked, I'm saving the turbosim hopefully for a new applesaft sim application that will work with the 4.03 baseband, then I'll use ziphone or whatever is available in future to only activate the fully 1.1.3 restored iPhone and unlock with turbosim.

It showed instantly, then I had to wait for 3min to complete

Make sure you are fully charged just in case, also before using ziphone try to see if itunes detects your iPhone properly.

You might have to do a full 1.1.3 restore if you keep getting problems, I'll give you a few tips on doing this correctly.

Edit:
hackint0sh has good info from people who where having problems...
