iPhone 12 Rumours & Release Date

Finally showing on my 11er. In non Rona years it would be after 7pm SA time. This year slightly different story.

Installed, still need to mess around with widgets but 1st thing I did was to install the shortcut & script to allow PiP in the YT App. PiP for YT vids would normally only work via Safari.

I can watch my man Doug & browse MyBB.

Lol that's the video title copy pasted whole.

I'm aware it's just a phone. That particular video was a good all rounder.

Let's see when the iPhone's launch what new features they come with. Probably looking at getting the 12 / 12 Pro. I think that will suffice.

Apple iPhone 12 prices to start from $649, four models incoming

The iPhone 12 lineup is going to have four members, a first in Apple’s history. With so many phones, each of them coming in various memory combinations, they will cover a wider range of prices. According to one leakster the iPhone 12 mini will start at $649, with the highest price tag being $1,399 for an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Each iPhone 12 version will have three memory options, with the lower two going 64/128/256GB, and the more premium duo having 128/256/512GB versions. The iPhone 12 mini is said to have a 5.4” screen and cost as much as $799.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have a similar screen size, and likely a similar footprint. However, we’re looking at a price difference of $200 between the two.

Apple officially announces iPhone 12 event for October 13: ‘Hi, Speed’

Apple today has officially announced its highly-anticipated iPhone 12 event for October 13 at 10 am PT. Much like WWDC 2020 and the September ‘Time Flies’ event, the iPhone 12 announcement event will be completely virtual and streamed directly from Apple Park. Apple is teasing the event with the “Hi, Speed” tagline.

Apple October event details

This event will mark the second Apple event within the last month. On September 15, Apple held a virtual event to announce its latest Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 6 hardware, alongside a new iPad Air and the 8th generation iPad, Apple Fitness+, and the Apple One services bundle.

The “Hi, Speed” tagline is a clear hint at the iPhone 12 and its expected 5G connectivity and A14 processor. The circular rings also resmble the Siri interface amid rumors of a smaller HomePod. Beyond that, the invite does not provide any other hints at what Apple could announce at the event.

Apple’s October event will be live-streamed across Apple’s website, in the Apple TV app, and likely on YouTube. We’ll have more details on this process, including instructions on how to watch, when event day rolls around.

That standard 5.4inch iPhone 12 may really flip the industry on its head with all these big phones, I know some people who’ve been wanting something smaller and more manageable.
Wasn't that covered in that lineup they released some years go? The colourful ones, what were they called? I believe they were in the 4" size range. They seem to have been withdrawn now.

The iPhone 5C? That was a little bit of a mess of a device, it arrived with an older chip and cheaper build materials (plastic), I believe it was not the success Apple were hoping it would be.

And I thought iOS was the most optimized software. "Watching" 4k video on a 2k Screen. What a shame!

Unless someone owns one of the very few smartphones that have 4K displays like a Sony Xperia 1 II for example, most smartphone users will be “watching” 4K video on a 2K or 1080P display anyway.

My point is my galaxy s20 will never show 4k option on YouTube. That's how optimized the software and hardware is.

Google are the ones that setup the YouTube app like that.
In fact they have set it up to only show 4K when there is HDR on iPhone it seems.

Either way it’s up to you how you want to watch the video, lol, if you feel you want to put it at 1080P you can.

It's not up to users, IT'S LIMITED BY YOUR SCREEN RESOLUTION.
