iPhone 12 Rumours & Release Date

Pushed the button on a 12 Pro Max 256 today. iPhone X battery needs replacing, an easy fix but cant find anyone locally that has battery and gasket in stock. Other than that thing is mint and has performed flawlessly over the last three years.

Was told by TELKOM stock arriving next week.
 
Apparently from Friday.

iStore say they have no stock but mention that you’re on the waitlist and miraculously there is stock. Contract will have to be migrated to a newer package which they can’t do so have to go to MTN. I won’t support Core/iStore. They’re always full of sh*t and have pathetic attitudes.

Lack of good clean software combined with good hardware specs.

My last Apple device before now was an iPhone 4 till I switch to the google nexus /pixel lines for a very long time.

The pixels have disappointed me now, but the main driver is that iOS has actually changed it with iOS 14 when I did move. Still not as free as android as I do miss downloading a torrent in my phone when I have to.

But impressed. Cameras from the 11 make it worth it.

Vodacom called my wife today to inform her that her iPhone 12 arrived, so it seems they received their stock.
 
No clue.. Vodacom says tomorrow, some say 22nd, iStore aren’t sure..
just have to wait I guess. I’ve signed up for both waiting lists for the 12 Pro Max...
 
Went to 3 Telkom stores here in Cape Town. No stock of any iPhone 12's. The salesman at Canal Walk says as soon as a stock arrives its gone the same day as they also fulfill back orders. No exact word on when the next stock arrives, but said it should be next week.

Guy as the iStore at Canal Walk says they were expecting more stock early next week. He said they get 50+ queries a day.

Seems to be a massive shortage with the iPhone 12. Also our launch date was far behind the US, where it's normally only 2 weeks. Seems Apple fumbled their expected demand, or Covid screwed with their supply chain.
 
Starting to wonder whether I might just skip 12...

13 is like 8.5 months away....of which 2 are likely to be lockdown-ish
 
I was meant to do a 5G test and post it a while ago and completely forgot! So here it is on my iPhone 12 Pro Max... I only managed 5 tests before my data depleted. It used 500mb per test!!! :eek: Needless to say, I won’t be using 5G :ROFL:

By the way, it also worked on the Afrihost APN as well, if anyone wanted to know.

This was the highest download speed I achieved of the 5 tests, however they were all close to this result anyway.
