iPhone 13 discussions

Was looking to upgrade a data contract I have on Vodacom

The only thing bugging me is CellC state they do not support wifi calling on Vodacom Iphone's and the reason is they have custom settings or carrier update on them or something?

So I dont want to get an iphone with weird custom software. I am heading back to the UK next year and dont want to have issues.

Can anyone share some light on this issue? Am I worried about nothing

Yes, but your upgrading a Vodacom sim and complaining about CellC, I am confused?

Also CellC is roaming on Vodacom.

Also, all carriers load custom settings on every phone, not just iPhone, it’s how they connect, authenticate and know who’s money to take when stuff happens.

I think CellC is just trying to walk the line between most of the population of the world being stupid, and the fact that that’s a job requirement to work there, those “custom” settings to which they refer, are installed when you plug in a SIM card.

Everybody taking pre-orders and nobody seems to have stock of the pro version, worste part is nobody can actually say when stock will be available.

Possibly a rogue app? I get on average 2.5 - 3 days with mine. With moderate use.

Take a lot of pics of daughter everyday (new dad problems, running out of iCloud storage) which uploads to both iCloud and OneDrive.

I would say check your battery and see what app is using the most battery and if it is background usage, disable that. I only allow background usage for apps that actually need it. Whatsapp, Signal, Outlook etc. If I dont need real-time info from it like YT, Apollo etc then I disable background app refresh.

Ok, maybe I'm considered a light user compared to your usage there.

But for me coming from the 12 Pro Max, I went from 2 days to 2.5-3 days.

My last Charge to 100% was Monday 7:30. I am now on 27% and usually put it on charge once it hits 20%, so expect that to be around 12:00 today.

Got my Graphite 13 Pro Max from Digicape today. The only one they had in stock. Was lucky I guess.

Keen to see the improvements in battery life from my 12 Pro Max.

So three things I've picked up so far;

So battery life is definitely improved! After a full days use I'm at 50%, whereas I'd be around 30% or lower with my 12 Pro Max.

I didn't think the 120Hz ProMotion would be that noticeable - but wow! It makes everything so silky smooth! It's definitely noticeable coming from a 60Hz screen.

The cameras seem to perform the same the 12 Pro Max performance wise. I can't tell the difference between the two. (I mean the 12 has fantastic cameras as is) but the macro mode is definitely handy!
